We’re pleased to share that the new Berrigan Drive intersection is now open, with traffic lights fully operational as of late last week. This is an important milestone in improving access to Glen Iris Estate and the surrounding community.
The intersection provides two new access points into Glen Iris. Access from the north is via the extension of Abundant Boulevard, connecting through the estate and offering easy access to the display village. From the south, entry is now available via the newly constructed Expansive Boulevard, linking Berrigan Drive with Lakes Boulevard.
As part of these changes, the existing intersection at Berrigan Drive and Lakes Boulevard now operates as left-in, left-out only, helping to improve safety and traffic flow.
Looking ahead, new streetlights are expected to be energised on 29 January, after which the temporary lighting towers will be removed. Permanent signage and line marking will be installed by Main Roads at a later date, with temporary signs and line marking remaining in place in the meantime.
Landscaping around the intersection is also nearing completion, with final shrub planting and turf works scheduled to be finished in early February.
