Earthworks for the initial stages of Glen Iris Estate are now complete and our contractor, Densford Civil, has commenced construction of Stage 1.
It is an exciting milestone for the project which will see the creation of 49 residential lots, several townhouse sites and a commercial site next to Berrigan Drive.
Current activity includes the installation of retaining walls to retain significant trees and allow the residential lots to embrace the natural rise and fall of the Glen Iris Estate site.
Underground sewer works for Stage 1 are also underway and this involves connecting into existing network locations along Glen Iris Drive, Hartwell Parade and Turnbury Park Drive.
In areas where trees and utility services need to be protected, contractors are using a special boring machine and water drainage pumps instead of digging trenches.
There is always some noise, dust and vibration associated with construction but Densford Civil is managing the development of Glen Iris Estate to the highest standards to minimise the impact on our neighbours.
Initiatives include perimeter fencing, water carts, dust monitoring stations and construction techniques that reduce noise and vibrations.
